Synopsis

Spirits of Rebellion: Black Cinema from UCLA documents a critically acclaimed, but relatively unknown group of black film artists known as the Los Angeles (LA) Rebellion. As the first sustained movement in the United States by a collective of minority filmmakers, they reimagined the production process to represent, reflect, and enrich their own communities.

Role

As Associate Producer and Additional Editor, Giovanna worked with Zeinabu irene Davis and co-Producer D. Andy Rice to complete Spirits of Rebellion: Black Cinema from UCLA. They finalized picture in the winter 2015 and have since enjoyed several screenings and awards.
